Generating Log Files for 1170 Printer

The 1170 is capable of generating log files from the firmware that can be helpful in diagnosing problems with the printer and firmware. To generate log files, first install the windows interface software and ensure it has communication with the printer:

Once the software has been installed, navigate to the setting tab and hold down the orange “O” in the postmark logo to enter admin mode. Once in admin mode, press and hold the “admin console” button to open the admin console window

Plug in a flash drive into the back of the printer in the left most USB port:

The printer status should now read “memoryCardInserted”

From the admin console:

  1. Press and hold Generate Debug Data

  2. Press and hold Retrieve Debug Data (wait 5 minutes before proceeding to step 3)

  3. Press and Hold Cancel Debug

After pressing these three buttons, remove the flash drive and plug it into your computer. There should be a folder on the flash drive with the serial number of the printer.

This folder should then be zipped and sent to Postmark when requested.
