USB Reflash Utility
HP FI-1000 Firmware
Install the USBReflash utility at the link above
Download and Run the installer. Note where the files are installed.
(Typically installed to "C:\Program Files (x86)\UsbReflash")Delete the installed executable "UsbReflash.exe".
Rename the update from "UsbReflash-3.6.5.exe" to "UsbReflash.exe" in place of the file you deleted in step (c).
Start the application
You do not need to run the layout wizard: Note that the layout wizard is helpful if you are flashing a large number of units, such as on a production line or in a test lab.
Option Viewer: You should be presented with the "Option Viewer". If the "Option Viewer" is not shown, you can select "Options->View Options" from the main dialog window.
File 1: Boot/Flash
Select File:
Press the "Set Options" button to select the flash/boot file:
Hit the "..." button on the "Flash File" line to select the reflash image (".fhx" file), then press "Done".
Reflash State: Put the printer into the reflash state by following the steps below:
Cable: Plug in a USB-A to USB-C cable from the printer to the computer.
Unplug the printer
Open ink door
Hold & Plug: Hold the power button for 10 seconds while plugging in the power cord
Refresh: Select “refresh” in the main dialog until you see the reflash option
Yes and Run
In the main dialog, click the yellow "No" boxes to turn them to cyan "Yes" for the USB devices you which to reflash. Note that you can use the "Select All" button to select all available USB devices for reflash.
Reflash: Hit the reflash button to start the process.
Progress bar: There will be 2 progress bars. You may need to expand the window to see it.
Auto Shut off: Wait for the printer to automatically shut off
Error Box: an error box will pop up saying it passed. You do not need to save.
Keep door open
File 2: Recovery: Repeat the process with a second file (Recovery File)
Go back to “Set Options” and select the recovery file.
Enter Reflash State: Hold power button for 10 seconds. (No need to unplug and replug if the door is still open.)
Continue with the rest of the steps above.
Press power button once to turn back on
Resume operation as normal
Ink Door Polarity (Optional)
If you are flashing from an older firmware, you may need to flip the ink door polarity. See the instructions in the link below.
