REST CONTROL OPTIONS
REST Interface: Full Control (For use with Xitron Navigator RIP)
NOTE: In this mode, “TOF/PPS Override” should be toggled off in the 1170 Windows Interface so that no slider bars are visible (under the Settings > Admin Console).
This will allow all job controls to be based on Xitron and disable the controls in the 1170 Windows Interface. “Test Print” and Die Calibrations will need to still be done in the 1170 Windows Interface.
See below for adjustments to TOF, PPS, and MJS settings.
REST Interface: Status Only (Not Recommended - Limited to 2000 prints per job)
This will allow the PPS and TOF to be adjusted in the Windows Interface but NOT the Navigator DFE. Under this option, there is no control over the MJS so jobs will need to be limited to 2000 prints.
REST Interface: Disabled (Not Recommended)
This option will entirely disable the REST entirely and should never be used while printing with the Xitron Navigator DFE.
REST FULL CONTROL ADJUSTMENTS
PPS Adjustments
This is the distance that the Printbar will come down to the paper. The recommended default for this is 5120 but it can be adjusted to allow for print clarity depending on the substrate. (NOTE: Make sure that the PPS is disabled in the 1170 Windows Interface under the Admin Console.)
TOF Adjustments
This is the distance from the Top of Form (TOF) sensor to the printbar to allow proper timing. The default should be 31,500, but this can be adjusted per print to print earlier (smaller numbers) or later (higher numbers). These units are 1/2400th of an inch. To calculate in inches, take your desired total or added inches and multiply by 2400 to get the proper units to enter.
MJS Adjustments
First, set when automatic cleanings will take place: either pre-job (recommended) or post-job.
Next, choose the MJS mode. This can be based on “Page count” (recommended), “Job count” or “Disabled” (not recommended for jobs over 2000 pages.) If you choose “Page Count,” select the number of pages you wish to print before a MJS is performed. The recommended set amount is 1000 pages. (NOTE: MJS timing may not happen at the exact page count set.)
