Changing Network Settings on 1170

Setting 1170 Printer to a Static IP

Start by identifying the printer’s IP address on your network. 1170 printers can be identified via their Mac Address which will always have the following format:

70-B3-D5-CB-BX-XX

The last three digits (shown X-XX) should correspond with the last three digits of the serial number on a printer. For example, a printer with the serial number PM0HP0002 will have a Mac address of 70-B3-D5-CB-B0-02

To find a list of Mac Addresses on a network, open the windows command prompt by clicking the start menu and typing “command prompt”. Run the following command: “arp -a” in command prompt. The results should be similar to below - note the identified a printer with serial number ending in 002 which has an IP address of 192.168.1.137

If you are unable to see a printer on your network, check that the orange light on the printer is illuminated and an Ethernet cable is connected to the back of the printer.

Also, ensure that your computer’s network settings have network discovery turned on.

The IP address can be used in the touch interface (setting tab) as well as in the driver installation. It can also be used to access the network settings for the printer via a web browser.

Open an internet browser and enter in the IP address of the printer, the following screen should appear:
