Editing config.ini for 1170 interface software
On the 1170 touchscreen, there is a config.ini file which allows for some backend settings to be adjusted. This guide will go through accessing config.ini as well as list some of the adjustments that can be made.
Before starting this, ensure that the software is updated to the latest release via the update software page. Parameters that can be adjusted are listed towards the end of this page.
While a keyboard can be used for this process, the recommended procedure is to connect to the printer’s touchscreen from another computer via teamviewer. For more information on using TeamViewer, visit https://www.teamviewer.com/
Navigate to the help tab on the touchscreen and hold down the open teamviewer button.
A small TeamViewer window should open with your teamviewer ID and password.
Note - if no password is entered, the default password is the printers serial number in the following format: PM0HP0###
Navigate to the maintenance tab and hold down the Orange O in the postmark logo. This should allow for the touchscreen software to be closed:
Click the small X in the top right corner to close the 1170 interface software
You should now have access to the touchscreens desktop interface. Click the two small folders in the bottom right which will bring up a menu
Select 1170int at the top of the list and click “Open”
A file selection window will open. Double click the file config.ini to edit the .ini file
A text editor will open and allow you to make changes to config.ini
After changes have been made, select file -> save to save the config.ini file.
After it has been saved it can be closed. To relaunch the 1170 interface software, double click the file 1170int (or power cycle the printer)

Theme color will change the color off all the loading icons, sliders, and other accent colors.
Under [Printhead], set OEMCODE (default 93401) to the corresponding value below
The default ratio for a custom logo is 600 x 60 pixels. It is recommended to include white space around the logo in order to cover up the hidden admin buttons. Logos should be saved as .jpg in RGB color space and the file name must be altlogo.jpg
After editing and saving the config.ini file to reflect the appropriate theme outlined above, initiate a file transfer via teamviewer:
A file transfer window will open up. On the right side, ensure the current directory is \home\pi\1170int
On the left side, navigate to your logo file, select it, and then click send.
Once transferred, close the file transfer window. “altlogo.jpg” should now show up next to the config.ini file on the printer’s interface:
Relaunch the interface software by double clicking 1170int followed by execute. The logo file and theme should now be displayed:
How to change the Splash Screen
The Splash screen is the black background that normally shows the Postmark logo before the interface software is opened. This can be customized by transferring a new splash screen file to the 1170 printer.
The file used for the splash screen is a 1024 x 600 pixel png file. (Download Sample)
The below video shows how to transfer and setup the custom splash screen.
How to enable a screen saver
In the default configuration, the screen on the 1170 will always remain on while power is connected to the printer. While it isn’t possible to physically turn off the touchscreen, a blank black screen saver can be enabled. To do this, follow the instructions above in this page to connect to the printer via teamviewer and close the 1170 interface software by holding down the orange O in postmark from the maintenance tab and follow the procedures out lined in the below video:
